Mark heads up Operations and Marketing at Volans. His wide remit means he is involved in everything from recruitment to IT to all facets of marketing.
Mark’s experience includes managing integrated marketing campaigns for global brands, as well as being MD of a mid-size marketing agency specialising in fundraising. Prior to joining Volans, he headed up EMEA marketing for a Global IT services company with over 120,000 employees. He is relishing the hands-on role that a company the size of Volans offers.
Mark enjoys using his all-round business experience to support the team as they strive to maximise the impact Volans has in today’s world.
Q. When are you most fulfilled?
A. I love the feeling you get when a plan comes together. Having spent most of my career in marketing nothing beats the satisfaction of a successful campaign that has been well thought through and superbly executed.
Q. What does Volans say to you?
A. Opportunity. The way companies do business has to change if we want to survive. Volans is at the forefront of driving this change. We have so much to do and time is not on our side.
Q. Where is your centre of gravity: past, present or future?
A. Definitely living very much in the present, even more so after the recent lock-downs. Though when I meet up with old college or rugby mates we have a strong tendency to gravitate to our glory days of the not so recent past.
Q. What are you grateful for?
A. Nothing new here – it is most unquestionably family and friends, and dog of course.
