The Crown Estate and Volans came together to partner on a series of stand-out events convened that ran throughout London Climate Action Week from 23rd-27th June.

Defying the Odds was an exploration of the key emerging leverage points needed catalyse the systemic change needed to build regenerative futures. Bringing together the arts, activism and a strong call to action, it inspired a different energy to sustainability-conference-as-usual.

It was a series designed to build connection and relationship in a new way. All too often, sustainability conferences have spotlighted individuals, leaving little for those across industries and systems to share notes and network. The approach for the week focused on tapping into the ‘collective intelligence’ brimming in the room. As a result, the invites were targeted, aimed at curating a room of experts – a room of potential panellists, invited to participate as fellow agents of change.

During and after LCAW we have been inundated with positive feedback – indicating that the concept of facilitating deeper connection and conversation reached fertile ground amongst the global climate and sustainability community that gathered in London.
